ORDINANCE NO. 3894 AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING MONIES FROM SERVER DEPARTMENT, J -11, $2,000 AND J -12, $5,000 TO SEWER DEPARTMENT J -13, $79000 AND FROM DOG POUND K -11, $400 FROM SALARY OF ASSISTANT POUND 14ASTER TO SALARY OF POUND lMSTER IN THE PUBLISHED BUDGET FOR 1952 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING WEST EWING AVENUE A BOULEVARD FROM FRANKLIN STREET TO GERTRUDE STREET. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion that the ordinance be held up for two weeks for further study and to have the Traffic Engineer attend the meeting for further explanation. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING MONIES FROM P -11, POLICE DEPARTMENT, SERVICES PERSONAL, $5,200 TO P.38, GENERAL. SUPPLIES, $200; P -7242 MOTOR EQUIPMENT, $5,000, AND FROM V -11, ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT, SERVICES PERSONAL, $1,394.14 AND FROM V -2161 TRAVELING EXPENSES, $118.11 TO V -724, MOTOR EQUIPMENT, $1,512.250 AND FROM Q -11, FIRE DEPARTMENT, SERVICES PERSONAL, $4,000 TO Q -251, REPAIRS OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES, $4,000, AND FROM T -261, TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT, OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICES, $300 TO T -252, REPAIRS OF EQUIPMENT, $300. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Bestle made a motion that the ordinance be referred to the Committee of the Whole for public hearing on October 27th, 1952. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the Contract heretofore entered into by and between the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the Rieth- Riley Construction Company of South Bend, Indiana; for the paving of MIAMI STREET from the south line of Ewing Avenue to the "south line of Ridgedale Road for the contract price of Fifty -six thousand,five.hundred eighty -six dollars and no� cents ($56,586.00 is confirmed and approved. CLOYD BESTLE Member of the Common Uouncil Councilman Hahn made a motion for the adoption of the resolution. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED by the common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the Contract heretofore entered into by and between the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the Rieth -Riley Construction Company of South Bend, Indiana, for the paving of 'NEST SAMPLE STREET from the east line of Walnut Street to the wdst line of Kosciuszko Street for the contract price of Sixteen thousand, six hundred ninety -two dollars and fifty cents $16,692.50) is confirmed and approved. RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, That, The use of the property located at the Northeast corner of Marietta & Sample Stso in said City be dedicated to the Board of Park Commissioners of said City for park and playground purposes.
