REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION June 19, 1962 The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend, South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached proposed ordinance originated by the City Planning Commission to zone "A" Residential Use and "A' Heigh and Area District the recently annexed land being generally described as containing 13.2 acres fronting on the west side of Ironwood Road and being 837 feet north of Inwood Road was legally advertised under date of May 28, 1962 and given public hearing on June 14, 1962. The followong action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the best use for the area in question would be residential. Kirby Sub. of Pt. B.O.L.,83, more generally described as the east side of Cherry Street from the first lot south of Washington Street south to the New York Central Railroad tracks plus one lot on the west side of Chestnut Street, was legally advertised under date of May 28, 1962. The followong action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the best zoning for the area in question would be residential. It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Council. It was further a sense of the meeting that as a_ reflection of the sentiments expressed at the hearing the ordinance be amended from the floor to read "A" Residential Use and "A Height and Area District, the Com- mission being unable to amend from the advertised ordinance;, thus requiring additional advertising and another public hearing. REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached proposed ordinance originated by the City Planning Commission to rezone from "C" Commercial Use and "D" Height and Area District to "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District Lots Numbered 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28, Stovers Sub, of B.O.L. 81;;'and Lots Numbered 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 39, 38, 37, 40, 41, 42, 65, 64, 63, 66, 67, 68, Arnold and Pagin's Sub; more generall described as both sides of Birdsell Street from the first east -west alley north of Washington Street, north to Linden Street and the south side of Linden Street from Birdsell Street east to Walnut Street, was legally advertised under date of May 28, 1962 and given public hearing on June 14, 1962.
