REGULAR MEETING JULY 19, 1976 <br />REGULAR MEETING - RECONVENED (CONTINUED <br />REPORT FROM THE SUB- COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your sub - committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would respectfully <br />report that it has inspected the minutes of the June 28, 1976 meeting of the Council and <br />found them correct. <br />The sub - committee, therefore, recommends that the same be approved. <br />/s/ Mary Christine Adams <br />/s/ Roger 0. Parent <br />REPORT FROM THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />Council Member Adams made a motion to waive the reading of the report of the Committee of the <br />Whole, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried with a roll call vote of nine <br />ayes (Council Members Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Taylor, Kopczynski, Adams, Dombrowski, Horvath <br />and Parent) . <br />PETITIONS TO AMEND ZONING ORDINANCE <br />We the undersigned, do hereby respectfully make application and petition the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana to amend the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as hereinafter <br />requested, and in support of this application, the following facts are shown: <br />1. The property sought to be rezoned is located at <br />the West side of Miami Road, beginning 556.45 feet South of the intersection <br />of Miami and Ireland Roads, running thence South 173.73 feet and being 420.00 <br />feet in depth. <br />2. The property is owned by <br />Robert's Cleaning Centers, Inc., an Indiana corporation having its principal <br />offices in South Bend, Indiana. <br />3. A legal description of the property is as follows: <br />Part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 25, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, more <br />particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the East line of said <br />Southeast Quarter of Section 25, 556.45 feet South of the Northeast corner thereof; <br />thence continuing South on said East line (being also the centerline of Miami Highway) <br />a distance of 173.70 feet; thence West a distance of 420.00 feet to a point; thence <br />North a distance of 173.73 feet to a point; thence East a'distance of 420.00 feet to <br />a point of beginning; said real estate containing approximately 1.675 acres, subject <br />to legal highways. <br />4. It is desired and requested that thefor.egoing property be rezoned <br />From "C" Commercial Use and "A" Height and Area District <br />to "C" Commercial Use and "A" Height and Area District <br />5. It is proposed that the property will be put to the following use and the following build- <br />ing will be constructed <br />A one -story building containing a self - service laundromat of approximately 7,320 <br />square feet and an automobile washing and cleaning establishment of approximately <br />1,840 square feet is presently located on said real estate. The laundromat portion <br />of said building will cotninue to be operated as a self- service laundromat containing <br />approximately 58 washing machines. The car wash portion of the building will be re- <br />modeled and an addition containing approximately 576 square feet will be added to the <br />front thereof so that the former car wash portion of the building as remodeled may be <br />used as an Arby's Roast Beef Restaurant. <br />6. Number of off - street parking spaces to be provided. <br />70 parking spaces, in accordance with the zoning requirements of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana. <br />7.
