REGULAR MEETING MAY 26, 2026 120 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Upon a motion made by VP Molnar, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried by roll call, the <br />above proposals were referred to Public Works and SBPD for review and recommendation. <br /> <br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONTRACT – 2026 CONTRACTOR PAVING ROUND 2 – <br />PROJECT NO. 126-026 (PR-00047128) <br />Dan Jones, Engineering, advised the Board that on May 12, 2026, bids were received and <br />opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Jones <br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible <br />bidder, Milestone Contractors, L.P., in the amount of $1,118,000. Therefore, VP Molnar <br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, and the bid be awarded, and the <br />contract approved as outlined above. Mr. Miller seconded the motion, which carried by roll <br />call. <br /> <br />AWARD QUOTATION AND APPROVE CONTRACT – SOUTH BEND POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT SERVER COOLING ROOM – PROJECT NO. 126-035 (PR-00047909) <br />Zak Tebell, Engineering, advised the Board that on April 28, 2026, quotations were <br />received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, <br />Mr. Tebell recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and <br />responsible quoter, Griffen Plumbing and Heating, in the amount of $166,057. Therefore, <br />VP Molnar made a motion that the recommendation be accepted, and the quotation be <br />awarded, and the contract approved as outlined above. Mr. Miller seconded the motion, <br />which carried by roll call. <br /> <br />AWARD QUOTATION AND APPROVE CONTRACT – SBFD STATION 11 RESTROOM <br />INSTALLATION – PROJECT NO. 126-033 (PR-00048228) <br />Zach Hurst, Engineering, advised the Board that quotations were received and opened for <br />the above referenced project. After reviewing those quotations, Mr. Hurst recommended <br />that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible quoter, Vera <br />Construction, in the amount of $34,981.31. Therefore, VP Molnar made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted, and the quotation be awarded, and the contract approved <br />as outlined above. Mr. Miller seconded the motion, which carried by roll call. <br /> <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 – DEMOLITION OF 747-749 HARRISON AVE. – <br />PROJECT NO. 124-062 (PO-0042853 <br />President Maradik advised that Zach Hurst, Engineering has submitted change order <br />number 1 on behalf of Ritschard Bros., Inc. indicating the contract amount be increased by <br />$91,437 and additional sixty (60) days for a new contract sum, including this change order, <br />in the amount of $534,923 with a completion date of June 30, 2026. Upon a motion made <br />by VP Molnar, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried by roll call, the change order was <br />approved. <br /> <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 – BYER’S SOFTBALL COMPLEX 2024 RENOVATION <br />– PROJECT NO. 123-072 (PO-0036756) <br />President Maradik advised that Patrick Sherman, Engineering, has submitted change order <br />number 1 on behalf of R. Yoder Construction, indicating the contract amount be increased <br />by $71,712.64 for a new contract sum, including this change order, in the amount of <br />$2,643,763.64. Upon a motion made by VP Molnar, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried by <br />roll call, the change order was approved. <br /> <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 – MARSHALL PARK TENNIS AND SIDEWALK – <br />PROJECT NO. 125-026B (PO-0045247) <br />President Maradik advised that Zak Tebell, Engineering, has submitted change order <br />number 1 on behalf of Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc., indicating the contract amount be <br />increased by $33,402.15 for a new contract sum, including this change order, in the amount <br />of $588,150.15. Upon a motion made by VP Molnar, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried by <br />roll call, the change order was approved. <br /> <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 – VPA LEEPER PARK COURTS – PROJECT NO. 124- <br />022 (PARKS & RECREATION)
