REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 23, 2001 <br />BILL NO. 33 -01 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL APPROPRIATING <br />$3,405,000, PLUS INTEREST EARNED THEREON, <br />WITHIN FUND 212 FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />REDEVELOPMENT OF THE STUDEBAKER - OLIVER <br />PROJECT AREA <br />Councilmember Kelly reported that the Community and Economic Development Committee met <br />on this bill and recommends this bill to the Council favorably. <br />Ms. Ann Kolata, Senior Redevelopment Specialist, Community & Economic Development, 1200 <br />County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br />Ms. Kolata informed the Council that this is an appropriation of Section 108 Loan Funds that will <br />be used for the Studebaker Oliver Project. <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this <br />bill, Councilmember Kelly made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council concerning <br />this bill. Councilmember Coleman seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) <br />ayes. <br />BILL NO. 34 -01 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL APPROPRIATING <br />$800,000, PLUS INTEREST EARNED THEREON, <br />WITHIN FUND 209 FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />REDEVELOPMENT OF THE STUDEBAKER- OLIVER <br />PROJECT AREA <br />BILL NO. 35 -01 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL APPROPRIATING <br />$249,450, PLUS INTEREST EARNED THEREON, <br />WITHIN FUND 209 FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />REDEVELOPMENT OF THE STUDEBAKER - OLIVER <br />PROJECT AREA <br />BILL NO. 36 -01 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL APPROPRIATING <br />$1,496,700, PLUS INTEREST EARNED THEREON, <br />WITHIN FUND 209 FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />REDEVELOPMENT OF THE STUDEBAKER - OLIVER <br />PROJECT AREA <br />Councilmember Kelly made a motion to combine Bill Nos. 34 -01, 35 -01 and 36 -01 for purposes <br />of Public Hearing. Councilmember King seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine <br />(9) ayes. <br />Councilmember Kelly reported that the Community and Economic Development Committee met <br />on these bills and recommends them to the Council favorably. <br />Ms. Ann Kolata, Senior Redevelopment Specialist, Community & Economic Development, 1200 <br />County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for these bills. <br />Ms. Kolata stated that these bills appropriate funds from the Brownfield Economic Development <br />Initiative Fund, the Economic Development Initiative and the Neighborhood Initiative Programs all <br />though the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The monies will go into the previously <br />approved fund and will be used to implement the strategy for the Studebaker Oliver Project. <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />
