He stated that <br /> this is the last building on the site to be developed. The <br /> II` property containing 7 mini-warehouse buildings. <br /> Council President Luecke requested for safety reasons that <br /> screening helped create a better impression of the property. <br /> The petitioner noted that screening would be placed on the <br /> South and West side of the property. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Coleman made a <br /> motion seconded by Council Member Washington that Substitute <br /> Bill No 79-93 be recommended favorable to Council. The <br /> motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Substitute Bill No. 80-93 which <br /> is a rezoning request for the property located at 1145 <br /> Prairie Avenue. Mr. John Byorni of the Area Plan staff <br /> noted that at a public hearing on October 19th the Bill was <br /> recommended favorably to the full Council. <br /> Mr. Carrie Levin made the presentation. He stated that the <br /> requested "E Zoning" is the preferred zoning for the area in <br /> question. He noted that between 40 to 50 new jobs would be <br /> created. <br /> Council Member Zakrzewski questioned what the outside use of <br /> the property would be. Mr. Levin noted that the warehouse <br /> would have 94 , 000 square feet and currently they are paying <br /> approximately $1600 per week for security because of <br /> individuals stealing the metals. Mr. Levin noted that the <br /> outside operation would only be to allow ingress and egress <br /> to the property and paving the parking lot for employees in <br /> the possible storing of boxes. He noted that there <br /> currently two shifts working and that the wire chopper is <br /> inside the building itself. <br /> Council Member Puzzello noted that she had received a letter <br /> from Rum Village. Mr. Levin noted that he had met with Mr. <br /> Broden and Mr. Caldwell sometime ago and had cut back hours <br /> to 10 O'Clock. Mr. Zakrzewski noted that phone calls have <br /> subsided since July or August of this year. Mr. Zakrewski <br /> further noted that Rum Village will probably be speaking <br /> against the Bill this evening. <br />
