Zoning and vacation Committee <br /> November 9, 1993 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Mr. Mike Dansch made the presentation. He showed a <br /> preliminary site plan to the Committee (Copy Attached) . He <br /> noted that the property in question is the proposed new site <br /> for the Kaniewski Funeral Home which is scheduled to open in <br /> December of 1994 . It would have a brick facade with a total <br /> construction cost of approximately one (1) million dollars. <br /> The Kaniewski Funeral Home is currently located on Lincoln <br /> Way West. <br /> Council Member Ladewski spoke in favor of the Bill along <br /> with Council President Luecke. In response to a question <br /> Mr. Kaniewski noted that the Lincoln Way property would be <br /> converted into a medical type center or business operation. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Coleman made a <br /> motion, seconded by Council Member Puzzello, that Bill No. <br /> 77-93 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion <br /> passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 78-93 which is a Bill <br /> to rezone the property located on the Southwest corner of <br /> Ireland Road and Main Street. Mr. John Byorni noted that at <br /> the Area Plan meeting of October 19 , 1993 that a public <br /> hearing was held and that the Bill was sent to Council with <br /> a favorably recommendation. <br /> Mr. Mike Dansch then showed the preliminary site plan (Copy <br /> attached) to the full Council. He stated that the property <br /> would be used as an Outlet Store for Perfection Bakery of <br /> Fort Wayne which would constitute phase one (1) . Phase two <br /> (2) would be retail and warehousing at a later date and <br /> time. He noted that remonstrators at Area Plan Commission <br /> were concerned over the bus stop. Mr. Byorni also noted <br /> that at the Area Plan Commission two individuals spoke <br /> against the proposed rezoning and presented a petition <br /> signed by 23 individuals. <br /> Following further discussion, Council President Luecke made <br /> a motion, seconded by Council Member Slavinskas, that Bill <br /> No. 78-93 be recommended favorably to Council . The motion <br /> passed. <br /> The next item on the agenda was to review substitute Bill <br /> 79-93 which is a zoning request for the property located at <br /> 1 3303 Portage Avenue. <br /> Mr. John Byorni noted that at the Area Plan meeting of <br /> October 19 , 1993 public hearing was held and the Bill comes <br /> to the full Council with a favorably recommendation.
