<br />08-51-00 - 2 ALUMINUM WINDOWS – SERVICE BUILDING 08-51-00 - 2 <br /> <br />3. Design Requirements: <br /> <br />a. The window manufacturer is responsible for designing system, including <br />installation instructions and necessary modifications to meet specified <br />requirements and maintain visual design concepts. <br /> <br />b. Requirements shown by details are intended to establish basic dimension of <br />unit, sight lines and profiles of members. <br /> <br />c. Provide assemblies free from rattles, wind whistles and noise due to thermal <br />and structural movement and wind pressure. <br /> <br />d. Installation instructions are to take into account building peculiarities and <br />expansion and contraction movements so there is no possibility of <br />loosening, weakening or fracturing connection between units and building <br />structure or between units themselves. <br /> <br />e. Provide for expansion and contraction due to structural movement without <br />detriment to appearance or performance. <br /> <br />f. Evacuate water without infiltration to interior from exterior face of wall, water <br />entering joints, and condensation occurring within windows, by drain holes <br />and gutters of adequate size or other acceptable method. <br /> <br />g. Provide concealed fastening wherever possible. <br /> <br />B. The window manufacturer is responsible for factory glazing all window units and types <br />specified herein. The final glass color tint selection will be made by the Architect from <br />samples submitted by the Contractor. <br /> <br />C. This Contractor is responsible for all perimeter - exterior and interior - sealant installations at <br />each window location. <br /> <br />D. This Contractor is responsible for field measurements of openings. See Sub. Part 1.05 for <br />additional requirements. <br /> <br /> E. Sunshade shall be designed as an integral part of aluminum architectural window <br /> system. <br /> <br /> 1. A proposal drawing showing full size details of all sunshade and window system <br /> components including all anchors, sunshade supports, and building attachments. <br /> <br /> 2. Engineering calculations documenting compliance with requirements of <br /> Section 1.05. <br /> <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE: <br /> <br />A. Windload Criteria: <br /> <br />1. The applicable State Building Code, current edition, having jurisdiction over the <br />location of the Project. <br /> <br />2. The system shall be designed to withstand the following loads normal to the plane <br />of the wall: <br /> <br />a. Positive pressure of 20 psf at non-corner zones.
