Peter Nemeth showed a map to the <br /> committee showing that it was an unimproved street that was <br /> dedicated. Mr. K. C. Posius spoke in favor of the proposed <br /> project. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Puzzello made a <br /> motion seconded by Council Member Luecke that Bill No. 86-89 <br /> be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> The committee then reviewed Bill No. 87-89 which would <br /> vacate a public right-of-way along Western Avenue. Mr. <br /> Bruce Zakrzewski, the controller for Transpo, spoke in <br /> favor of the Bill. He stated that there was concern over <br /> security and safety in this area. He noted that the Board <br /> of Public Works recommended the Bill favorably at its last <br /> board meeting. <br /> Following discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion <br /> seconded by Council Member Soderberg that Bill No. 87-89 be <br /> recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> The committee then reviewed Bill No. 88-89 which would <br /> vacate an alley off of Leland Avenue. Mr. David Fritz spoke <br /> in favor of the Bill . He noted concerns with regard to <br /> speeding and safety. The Board of Public Works recommended <br /> the Bill favorably at its last meeting. Following <br /> discussion, Council Member Luecke made a motion seconded by <br /> Council Member Puzzello that Bill No. 88-89 be recommended <br /> favorably to Council. <br /> Council Member Soderberg reminded the Common Council with <br /> regard to the problems of access to buildings and the <br /> creation of T-alleys. He noted specifically a similar <br /> request in the River Park neighborhood. He voiced concern <br /> with regard to emergency vehicles and trash trucks. Council <br /> Member Luecke and Council Member Coleman stated that the <br /> particular vacation request was distinguishable from that <br /> heard earlier this year by the Common Council in the River <br /> Park Area. <br /> The committee then reviewed Bill No. 61-89 which involved a <br /> rezoning request for property located on Ireland Road. Mr. <br /> Edward Hardig and Mr. Hall were available to present the <br /> Bill. He noted that the property involved totals <br /> approximately four acres. He noted that at the Area Plan <br /> Commission meeting of August 15, 1989 that it came to the <br /> Common Council without recommendation. He then showed an <br /> architectural rendering of the proposed site. It was noted <br /> that the property would be rezoned from "A" to "C" . <br /> Council Member Puzzello noted that a similar operation on <br /> Edison Road had been received favorably by the community. <br />
