DOUGLAS G. DORG^ JR., LPG
Principal
solid waste management company. He coordinated
system design and prepared permit applications for
state agency acceptance.
Mr. Dorgan performed peer reviews of four Type I
(general municipal solid waste) landfill permit
applications in Texas. The peer review assisted
project staff and legal counsel in identification of
limitations and/or deficiencies in the applications.
Project activities enabled implementation of
corrective measures prior to public hearing,
He directed a site investigation and coordinated
remediation planning of a formerly unpermitted
construction/demolition debris disposal site. Project
required the development of a remedial plan
involving the controlled excavation and off -site
disposal of approximately 30,000 cubic yards of
impacted debris/fill. Project also required the
management of approximately one million gallons of
impacted water.
Mr. Dorgan implemented groundwater impact
assessments for municipal solid waste landfills in
Illinois. Projects required extensive hydrogeologic
assessment and leachate characterization. Impacts to
shallow perched groundwater were conclusively
demonstrated to be associated with surface
infiltration and natural wetlands processes. Project
findings avoided implementation of costly corrective
measures.
He had project management responsibility for
preparation and submission of a Type I (general
municipal solid waste) Landfill permit application in
Sam Antonio, Texas. The permit application was
presented at public hearing and received a permit
fi•om the Texas Water Commission. The she has
been developed and is cun-ently operating.
Publications/Presentations
Contributing author "Municipal Solid Waste Landfills
.
