Based on the results of the walk -thru addition characterization and/or testing <br />may be recommended. A cost estimate for any additional characterization and /or testing is <br />beyond the scope of this proposal and will only proceed with approval by the City. <br />3.3 Task 2 - Preparation of Environmental Abatement Speeifications <br />Weaver Boos believes that the preparation of the environmental bid specifications for the project <br />should be performance -based rather than a detailed specification that requires micromatragement <br />by the oversight contractor or the City. A performance -based specification will present the <br />minimum requirements that the contractor is expected to meet in renovation, offsite disposal of <br />the material, and protection of underground utilities and offsite buildings, and will give the <br />contractor the flexibility to use contractor's equipment and staff in the way that will produce the <br />most cost effective bid for the City. <br />Prior to preparing the specifications, some additional information must be gathered. The primary <br />tasks that must be performed prior to preparing the specifications are: <br />2A. Obtain and/or review drawings that document the specifications of the existing <br />buildings; <br />2B. Prepare Specifications. <br />Each of these items is discussed in further detail below. <br />3.3.1 Sub -Task 2A - As -Built Drawing Review <br />Weaver Boos intends to review existing drawings to the extent possible in the preparation of the <br />environmental bid specifications. <br />3.3.2 Sub -Task 2B - Bid Plans and Specifications <br />Based on the information discussed above and collected during Task 1, the environmental <br />abatement bid specifications will be created. The specifications will be written in American <br />Institute of Architect format or in a manner approved by the City. The bid specifications will <br />include a timeline for remediation. <br />Weaver Boos assumes that the City has a standard contract form that will be included in the bid <br />package. Weaver Boos will work with the City's attorneys to modify the contract so that it <br />addresses the issues unique to this project.
