29 December Prepared and faxed CLG Reports for South Bend and St. Joseph <br />County to John Rennaud. E-mailed Larry Meteiver concerning Wayne's contract. <br />Contacted Greg Schoff at 728 Leland that he would need to apply for a COA for his shed <br />and dog kennel by 10 January for the Commission to consider his project. Sent letter via <br />certified mail to Kapsa on Marquette, also by regular mail to Tribune, and inter office to <br />Building Commissioners, Common Council and by e-mail to HPC Commissioners. Met <br />with Sue Solmos of Community and Economic Development about the content of the <br />HPC presentation on 19 January to her Realtor Class. Organized 106 Reviews for <br />photographs on Thursday. <br />30 December On sight 106 Reviews for 12 Caregiver grants, home improvement <br />grants and a demolition on south and west side of South Bend. Reconciled year end <br />Location Report witli requested encumbrances; determined that the Office will leave about <br />$100.00 unexpended -mostly in gasoline allotment and legal notices. <br />31 December Finished year end paperwork on reports and projects. Turned in <br />December fees and sales proceeds. Researched house on Portage for potential buyer. <br />3 January Meeting with Chuck Bulot concerning the proposed work on the <br />Birdsell Mansion by Greg Kil and the letter to Superintendent Kapsa about landmarked <br />Marquette School. Year end recap for the BSSB financials, application for BSSB South <br />Bend Charitable Fund Raising License, and contacted IRS for 1099 -Mise. <br />4 January Meeting with Mary Ellen O'Connell about the establishment of a <br />Conservation LHD in the North Triangle area and the traffic, lighting, tree and erosion <br />issue in West North Shore LHD. Pelley secured the demolition permit for 632 Portage <br />that the Commission approved with GOA# 2010-1004A. Sent copies of Conservation <br />Standards and District Implementation Procedures to Mary Ellen O'Connell. <br />5 January Phone interview with Kim Kilbride (247-7759) of the South Bend Tribune <br />about the letter sent to James Kapsa concerning Marquette School. Stated that the <br />Building is a landmark and that the School Corporation would need to apply for a COA <br />for demolition This would be accompanied by a Staff Report and would in turn be heard <br />and voted on by the Commission. Typed up the Conservation Standards and the District <br />Implementation procedure so that they could be converted to PDF files. Arranged to meet <br />with Sue Solmos at 10:00 am 6 January concerning presentation. <br />6 January Meeting with Sue Solmos about Industrialist Neighborhoods presentation <br />for 19 January. Received notice via e-mail from Andrew Cunningham (Wightman-Petrie <br />Inc.) that 13 January meeting at the Jewish Federation concerning the SOI Synagogue is to <br />be cancelled because "due to budget cut backs the proposed renovations for the Synagogue <br />to be renovated as the team store is now in question....." Prepared year end encumbered <br />POs to Auditor's Office. Spoke with HPC attorney, received a copy of the Preservation <br />Specialist Contract, he has a call into to Paul Cholis concerning Paul's letter about code <br />violations at 803 W. Washington; and on the matter of Marquette School, Larry is <br />"conflicted" and cannot represent the HPC. <br />K <br />
