details regarding the awning that she wished to have installed. She did come in also on the
sixteenth with that awning request.
I told her that it would be the discretion of the chair whether or not that would be considered
-- today.
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: We will go through it briefly then
KAREN-HAMMOND HASH: The Old Hoosier Brewery has a noncontributing front attached to it.
It is my understanding that Mrs. Anderson wishes to install an awning to the attached front of the
building. Staff would recommend approval.
JOHN OXIAN: I will make a motion that her awning over the doorway be approved and that the
removal of the boards in front of the windows facing Lincoln Way West be approved also.
MARTHA CHOITZ: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously.
KAREN HAMMOND-NASH: I have a question that needs some clarification. The letter that came
to me with her application stated that she would like to have awnings installed over the windows
along the front of her building facing Lincoln Way West. Should I then inform her that this has =
been denied or that this matter has not been considered?
JOHN OXIAN: Inform her that the matter has not been considered. If she wants us to approve of
the installation.of awnings over the front windows then she needs to come in and explain the work
i—" she plans to have done. She also needs to bring in pictures showing the area where she proposes to
have the work done. .
III. REGULAR BUSINESS
A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (February, March and April)
VIRGINIA O'HAIR: _ I -will make a motion that we accept February's minutes. -- --
LYNN PATRICK: Seconds the motion and it passes, 8 in favor; J. Oxian abstaining.
MARTHA CHOITZ: I will make a motion that we accept March's minutes.
MARY JANE CHASE: Seconds the motion and it passes, 8 in favor, J. Oxian abstaining.
MARTHA CHOITZ: I will make a motion that we accept April's minutes.
VIRGINIA O"HAIR: Seconds -the motion and it passes.
B. HEARING OF VISITORS
The Edgewater District Liaisons, Ann McFadden and Tina Assimos, presented a list of concerns
regarding homes in their neighborhood. A detailed discussion was then held between commission
members and the Edgewater District Liaisons regarding preservation matters.
They also had photos of several homes from the neighborhood. They agreed to provide copies
of these pictures for Martha Choitz, Chair of the Standards and Maintenance Committee.
