JOANN SPORLEDER: Do you think the walls can be pulled back and tied together sufficiently?
AMANDA CRAGEN: I think so. I think the trick is going to be to get the roof off without major
calamity. I don't think I will have too much of a problem if I can remove the boards on the comers,
and then pull the walls back together and straighten them, and then attach a new roof.
MARY JANE CHASE: Does the owner live here?
ERIC ROSI-MARSHALL: No, she lives in Illinois outside of Chicago in Palos Park. She has
asked me to represent her here tonight. I have been up on roof tops and I have worked as a builder
doing odd jobs for her. Yes, I have personally been involved with some of the more informal
nonstructural jobs such as replacing siding, painting and rebuilding the barn -style. I did not want to
take on all of the structural work of the roof. Amanda seems to have a formal contract with the
owners of the property.
JOHN OXIAN: Are you planning to put the same type of siding back onto the garage?
ERIC ROSI-MARSHALL: Yes I am.
JOHN OXIAN: How badly deteriorated is the barn -style door on the garage?
ERIC ROSI-MARSHALL: The whole bottom of the door is rotted out. There was a bottom board
on the door that was sitting on the ground that was collecting moisture. With recent winter storms
that we have had it has knocked them off all together and essentially split them in half. The bottom
heavy board was gone already. So, when the door fell it split vertically.
As Amanda said there are no headers essentially to speak of. The metal tracks that the doors
rest on are twisted somehow, so that the doors cannot ride on them properly. - The hardware is there _
and I am planning on saving it or having it replaced if necessary. I need to do this in order to put
the new garage doors back up and have them work properly.
JOANN SPORLEDER: I will move that application that 2003-0515-2 at 1043 Riverside Drive be
approved as amended.
MARY JANE CHASE: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously.
CATHERINE HOSTETLER: The next Certificate of Appropriateness. is 2003-0519.
= JOHN OXIAN: I would like to make a motion that this C. of A. be tabled and put into the
Standards and Maintenance Committee.
GERALD UJDAK: Seconds the motion and it passes unanimously.
- KAREN HAMMOND-NASH: In your meeting packets is a Certificate -of Appropriateness 2003-
0412-B.
I thought that Mrs. Anderson was going to be here; but, I do not see her here tonight. In April
Mrs. Anderson applied to have several items approved, regarding the Old Hoosier Brewery located
at 1626 Lincoln Way West: She had indicated that she intended at a later date to supply more
