MATTHEW BARRETT: There is an existing light pole w ith a light that does not work and we are not planning on changing it at this time. We have four children ages 3, 5, 7, 9, and my children are not in a position for me to let them play basketball at night. JOHN OXIAN: I would recommend that you plant some type of shrubbery for the area facing North Shore Drive. This will help to make the landscape around the basketball court look more natural and blend in with the rest of the area; especially, since you are planning on make the basket ball court larger. JOHN OXIAN: I have already seen and know where the basketball court is located. So, I would like to make a motion to expand this basketball court with new concrete under the following two conditions: 1. That a nice shrubbery be planted facing North Shore Drive. 2. Check with the neighborhood to be sure that enlarging this basketball court will Be acceptable to them. MATTHEW BARRETT: I need to have both of these points clarified. CATHERINE HOSTETLER: I think, John, you need to clarify this or you need to discuss this with Karen. KAREN HAMMOND -NASH: In other words, I am authorized to pull the paving application and you will have to try again. There also needs to be a note written for Mr. Barrett from the neighbors stating that they have no objections to this expansion. JOANN SPORLEDER: I don't think that you need a note from the neighbors. I think you need to only know that Mr. Barrett has spoken to the neighbors. JOHN OXIAN: No, I made the motion and I want the note. I don't want someone coming back later and asking when this verbal discussion took place. I want it in writing so that there are no future arguments. JOANN SPORLEDER: Well, he will need to know how many neighbors then. CATHERINE HOSTETLER: He will at least need a note from both neighbors on each side of his property, I would think. He would have to actually get some kind of written notice from them stating that this expansion would be ok with them. JOHN OXIAN: I would also like you to work with Karen on what type of bushes you would like to plant in that area.
