.J <br />A <br />117 '96 10:51AM DEPT OF PUBLIC WORKS P. 3/3 <br />.:rete or Pisphaltic Pavenents <br />Concrete or asphaltic pavement shall be replaced with concrete of i <br />thickness equal to that which existed or six (6) inches, whichever is <br />greater. <br />Concrete used in pavement replacement shall consist of Type A <br />concrete with 7% air entrainment. Slump shall not exceed three (3) <br />inches. Coarse Aggregate shall be Limestone ox Blast Furnace Slag. No <br />natural gravel aggregate may be used. <br />When concrete is used in replacement of asphaltic pavement, a <br />blacking agent such as C-250 Super Black (Color Pigments, Inc.) or its <br />equal, shall be used. <br />L"I" Brick Pavement <br />When excavating brick pavement, the existing brick shall be removed a <br />stockpiled, arior to excavation. said brick shall then be used for <br />pavement replacement. j <br />Temporary Patch <br />if it is not possible, due to weather conditions, for the Contrac <br />to replace the pavement within 14 days following bacItfilling of cut, a <br />Coarse Aggregate base 8 inches thick and a cold asplial.ti.c surface s1ltl <br />applied and maintained as a temporary patch until permanent repairs ca <br />made. Concrete pavement patching shall not be done. from October ist <br />through March 31st. During this time period, pavement cuts shall be <br />repaired with a temporary patch. Such temporary patches shall be replz <br />with permanent repairs no later than June 15th of that year. <br />18 <br />
