Collection Site Facility <br />If the employee fails to provide a sufficient quantity of urine, at least 30 <br />milliliters, the following procedures shall apply. <br />a. The employee shall remain at the collection site and be given a <br />reasonable period of time to provide a specimen. As a general rule, <br />the employee will be allowed up to three (3) hours. <br />b. Employees shall be asked to drink fluids (up to 40 ounces) to <br />facilitate urination. During the waiting period, the employee will <br />remain at the collection site under supervision at all times. <br />C. If at the end of the waiting period the employee still cannot provide <br />a specimen of sufficient quantity, this inability shall be recorded by <br />the collection site personnel on the Chain -of -Custody Form as <br />failure to provide a specimen. <br />d. The MRO, upon receipt of his/her copy of the Chain -of -Custody <br />Form, shall contact the employee for any medical justification that <br />may exist to explain why the employee failed to provide a <br />specimen. If the MRO believes the employee's justification is <br />medically acceptable, no further action shall be taken against the <br />employee. If the MRO believes there is no medical basis for the <br />failure to provide a specimen, the MRO shall so notify <br />DESIGNATED EMPLOYER REPRESENTATIVE. <br />e. The DESIGNATED EMPLOYER REPRESENTATIVE shall <br />contact the employee's supervisor and Human Resources <br />representative. The Human Resources representative shall initiate <br />appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with Section VIII.F. <br />Entitled "Refusal to Submit/Insubordination". <br />If the employee arrives at the collection site and fails to provide a sufficient <br />quantity of urine, or without a medical reason prior to supplying the requisite <br />sample leaves the collection site, the following procedures shall apply. <br />a. The clinic will contact the DESIGNATED EMPLOYER <br />REPRESENTATIVE and inform them that the employee failed to <br />remain at the collection site will be reported to the MRO has a refusal <br />to submit.
