4 <br />157 <br />Representatives from the Typewriter shop appeared before the Board in regard <br />to a safe cabinet in the Park Board office. The Board took said matter under advisement. <br />Petition filed with the Board for a electric li,&it on the corner of Brook— <br />field Avenue and Sibley Avenue. The same placed on file for investigation. <br />The Board instructed Mr. D. C. Layton, Streh.t Commissioner to take up the <br />matter of repairs to the house owned by the City and 6claupied by Dr. Cannon with the <br />Idayor and iQ house is to be re'NTted any length of time to make the necessary repairs. <br />Excavation bona for the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00) sinned by Henry <br />Haney and approved by the Board. <br />Petition for a light at corner of Ford Street and Huron Street' Same <br />placed on file for the Board to ir.vesti?ate. <br />. Contractors bond for the sun of One Thousand D-1 srA signed by Martin <br />Gr_ ze c�kowiak, as princ ikpal and Frank A. Witueki and Joe Dobzykowski as sureties was approved <br />by the Board . <br />Bond and contract for the paving of Indiana Avenue from Kemble Avenue to <br />Prairie Avenue with Asphaltic Concrete signed by W . B. Brady Construction Company as <br />principal and The Aetna Accident & Liability Company as sureties wes approved by the Board. <br />The pole and wire inspector reported as' follows on t'l►e compalints <br />about poles. <br />In regard to conpkaint about pole at the rear of 505 W. La Sall€s. A venue <br />,. this pole'should be removed to the east about six foot or more, &nd the Indiana and Mich. <br />Elea. Compan$r wires should then be placeA ^r this Home Telephone Company pole, and remove <br />the Indiana & 'Michigan Elea. Company pole entirely. This work should be done. at once as <br />property owner is building, a ga, ra ge . <br />In re and to cha.n ing of poles at L,awndale Avenue and Van Buren Street <br />The Indiana & Michfgan Elea. Company pole there can be an iron mast arm plb.ced on the pole <br />now standing on the north east corner of Lawndale Avenue end Van Buren Street fnd remove <br />this pole and guy slug. <br />Petition for pipe sewer on Marine Street and Indiana Avenue from Calvert <br />Street ti Miami Street . Same referred to the City Engineer for investigation. <br />Petition for a pavement on Milton Avenue from Miami Street to High Street. <br />Same referred to the City Engineer for investigation. <br />The Board adopted the following resolution and ordered the Clerk to set <br />the same for a hearing Wednesday July 5th.1,1916. at 10:00 A.M. <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2921916. <br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana; That <br />it is desirable to vacate the following; Beginning at the intersection of the north line of <br />Washington Averiue and the westerly line of Ginz Avenue; thence northerly on tie westerly <br />line of Ginz Avenue to the-, south lire of Colfax Avenue; tnence east lour (4) feet; tizence <br />southerly parallel to and four (4) feet c_as t;,..dt from the westerly 1111e of �_'T `L ,iz Avenue to <br />a point on the north line of Washington Avenue fo,_r (4), feet east of t'le plac^ of bl qi.n— <br />ning; thence west Four (4) feet to the Dlf,, ce of ruin ning. <br />All as shown on the plan of such proposed vacation on file in the Office <br />of t:�ie Oepartnent of Public Works of the City of South Rend, In - <br />'tame. - <br />The following; property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by <br />suen vacation; in the City of South Bend, Indiana, by said proposed vacation is known and des— <br />cribed as a part of Ginz Avenue herein proposed to be vacated, lots, 1,2,3,4 and 5 <br />in Miller and Green's Addition to the town of Lowell now a part of the City of South <br />Bend, and lot 25 in the plat of the Original Town of Lowell now a part of the City of <br />Southl3end, Indiana, abutting on the west side thereof; and that portion of the East <br />Race exte-lding from the north line d'f Washington Avenue to the south line of Colfax <br />Avenue abutting on the east side thereof. <br />
