During final negotiations, <br />Mr. Humburger succeeded in securing <br />reductions in the price for Alternate No. 1 <br />and the unit prices for several cost items <br />contained in KRC's original bid. KRC is the <br />low bidder and can complete the work in <br />timely fashion. Staff recommends approval <br />of the base bid and three alternates with KRC <br />Roofing and Sheet Metal in the amount of <br />$8,150, including contingencies. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved a proposal for roof <br />repairs in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. (237 N. Michigan Street, <br />former Hotel LaSalle) <br />(4) Commission approval requested for <br />proposal for professional services in the <br />South Bend Central Development Area. <br />(Updated appraisal services, Michigan <br />Street Shops) <br />Mr. Williams reported that Michelle <br />Farrington and Rick Pitts performed previous <br />appraisals for the Michigan Street Shops. <br />These appraisals were conducted in <br />November 2001. Policy requires that <br />appraisals be updated every three years. <br />Both appraisers have agreed to update their <br />appraisal for a cost of $750 and $1,000 <br />respectively The appraisals are needed to <br />establish a fair market rental rate so that any <br />available space can be advertised for lease <br />according to the public process.
