Public Hearings <br />continue ... <br />Mike Divita: Planner for Miami St. To <br />answer some of your questions, the purpose <br />of this is to allow for the facade program. <br />The Instant Lube property would be one that <br />would certainly be helpful to work with on <br />that. There are no plans to eliminate the <br />automotive uses. The use you've had on that <br />particular property is allowed by zoning. <br />Mr. Bartylla: When we purchased the <br />property it was vacant, an old gas station. <br />We spent $300,000 redeveloping it seventeen <br />years ago. Now we're spending about <br />$100,000 redeveloping it again. So, I'd hate <br />to see all that money and effort be thrown <br />away. So, if that's the case, I would have to <br />say I'm in favor. <br />Jerry Niezgodski: I'm kind of curious about <br />more of the details of this. I was not aware <br />of this addition to the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. I defer to Mr. <br />Peczkowski's comments. Actually, my <br />concern is the geography of it all doesn't <br />make sense to me. If you want to add it to a <br />TIF district, fine, but what about the Central <br />Business District, what about some of the <br />others that are in closer proximity to it. I'd <br />be interested in knowing the logic, the <br />reasoning for including this area south and <br />adjacent to other TIF areas into the Airport <br />on the far northwest side. <br />Mr. Peterson: I think I can speak to that. It's <br />actually the Sample-Ewing Area that backed <br />right up to the Miami St. corridor. Since the <br />27 <br />
