(J) Driveways within front yards should be as narrow as possible to reduce <br /> paved surfaces and increase front yard and tree lawn areas. <br /> (K) Driveways on comer lots should be located as far as possible from intersections. <br /> (L) Driveway curb-cuts should be placed to maximize the number of on-street parking spaces. <br /> (M) Attractive materials and design features should be used to minimize the <br /> "hard" appearance of driveways. Where feasible, interlocking permeable <br /> paving material should be considered. <br /> (7) Single Family Residential Landscaping and Screening <br /> (A) Landscaping for new single family residential development must meet or exceed the <br /> requirements set forth in Section 21-07.01 Landscape Regulations of this <br /> SBZO. <br /> (B) Landscaping for rehabilitated buildings should be upgraded to meet or exceed the <br /> requirements set forth in Section 21-07.01 Landscape Regulations of this <br /> SBZO. Where not feasible due to existing space limitations or existing site design, <br /> additional landscaping should be provided in other areas of the site. <br /> (C) Landscaping and fencing should be used to screen exposed side views of garages, <br /> especially along side streets at the entrances to alleys. <br /> (D) The incorporation of street trees in alley areas adjacent to garages is encouraged where <br /> practical. <br /> (8) Single Family Residential Building Addresses <br /> (A) All buildings should clearly display their address numbers. Address numbers should be <br /> three to four inches (3"-4") in height, and designed as a decorative element that <br /> complements the building's architecture. <br /> (B) The size and location of building addresses should be pedestrian-oriented <br /> and in proportion to the building fagade. <br /> (C) Building addresses should be constructed of high-quality, solid, and <br /> otherwise durable materials. Wood,metal, and stone addresses are <br /> acceptable. Vinyl-applied numbers are prohibited. <br /> (D) Building address text should be simple and easy to read. To maximize <br /> readability, text should contrast with the background material and <br /> color upon which it is placed. <br /> (E) Building addresses should be located along the primary street <br /> elevation only. <br /> (F) Building addresses should be visible at night. <br /> 14 <br />
