Task 102 — Basis of Design Memorandum <br />A Basis of Design Memorandum (BDM) will be prepared to provide design information and <br />project direction. The BDM will establish design criteria, project design schedule, project <br />sequencing plan, control descriptions, and other important project design information. Five <br />copies of the Draft BDM will be provided to the Owner for review prior as a separate <br />deliverable to finalize design criteria prior to moving forward with design. The Owner's <br />comments will be incorporated and five copies and one electronic copy in PDF format of the <br />Final BDM will be submitted <br />Task 103 — Solar Energy Study <br />Engineer will review site information and documentation of available rooftops and other <br />potential locations for installation of solar arrays. Upon completion of the workshop and review <br />of the site, a Solar Energy Summary Technical Memorandum will be written to document input <br />obtained during the workshop along with findings from review of available site information. <br />This memorandum will include identification of up to three areas of the facility to target for <br />further development of estimated costs and energy savings evaluations using photovoltaic solar <br />array technology. Five copies of the Draft Solar Energy Summary Technical Memorandum <br />will be provided to the Owner for review. The Owner's comments will be incorporated and five <br />copies and one electronic copy in PDF format of the Final Solar Energy Summary Technical <br />Memorandum will be submitted. <br />Task 104 — Design and Contract Document Development <br />The Engineer will prepare Contract Documents consisting of drawings and specifications to <br />incorporate a total of three low -voltage switchgear lineups, four generators, seven MCCs, a <br />480V panelboard, and the Compressor Building Network Panel at the Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant as well as demolition of the existing electrical gear, power cable, and conduit. The <br />documents will be prepared for the selection of a private construction contractor on a <br />competitive bid basis. One contract will be prepared for the performance of all work, including <br />procurement of equipment. The Engineer's Standard Documents will be used for preparation of <br />technical specifications and C-700 Standard General Conditions 2013 Edition will be used for <br />the front end documents. <br />The Components of the design include installation of two low -voltage switchgear lineups <br />equipped with drawout power circuit breakers installed in the following locations: <br />• Southeast Switchgear located in the Maintenance Shop appended to the north side of the <br />Compressor Building <br />• Northeast Switchgear located on the Operating Level of the Reuse Building <br />Standby generators will be installed outdoors, adjacent to each of the above mentioned <br />locations.
