6/30/69 ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3295, 1969 - SEARS ROEBUCK 6, CO. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: "RESOLVES BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: Franklin Street, from Western Avenue south to Monroe Street. Reserving the rights and easements of all utilities and the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any facilities, including but not limited to electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures and ditches within the vacated right of way unless such rights are released by the individual utilities. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by'such vacation: Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Block 8 of Vail's Southwest Addition and Lots 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 of Part of Vail's Southwest Addition. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the filth day of July and on the 18th day of July, 1969, in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News. This Board, at its office in the City Hall, on the 14th day of July, 1969, at 9:30 A.M., will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. STREET LIGHTS APPROVED Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department for the following: Increase the existing 7000L MV light at the gas pumps at Municipal Services Facility to 20,0001- MV. Added cost being $1.60 per mo. Installation of two 7000L MV on existing poles - 4400 block of S. Main. Added cost being $7.50 per mo. Replace seven 4000L INC with 7000L MV at a cost of $5.40 per mo., and Install one midblock light - 7000L MV at a cost of $3.75 per mo. - Colfax Avenue, between Studebaker and LaPorte. Replace one 6000L INC at LaPorte and Colfax with 21,0001- MV at a cost of $2.15 per mo. Also one additional to Model Cities project at a cost of $11.30 per mo. STREET SIGNS APPROVED Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department for the following: Installation of "STOP" sign and post on 36ehsStreetsatcNonths!de on >the::noethwest corner. Installation of "YIELD" sign and post - northeast corner of Chapin and Western. Installation of "STOP" sign and post - northwest corner of Lafayette and Ireland Road. Install "STOP" sign on Woodside at York.
