<br />ADOPTION OF.RESOLUTION NO. 3, 1976 - STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON
<br />BENDIX DRIVE AND ON CLEVELAND ROAD
<br />Mr. Farrand submitted to the Board a resolution authorizing the
<br />Department of Public Works to proceed with all phases of
<br />preliminary work for improvements to Bendix Drive and Cleveland
<br />Road in connection with the Airport Industrial Park, Phase Four.
<br />The total cost of the project is estimated at $746,000. Upon
<br />motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried,
<br />the following resolution was adopted:
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 3, 1976
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has found it necessary
<br />in the best interest -of the public safety and
<br />welfare to construct certain street improvements on
<br />Bendix Drive, from Lathrop Street to Cleveland Road
<br />and on Cleveland Road from Bendix Drive westerly to
<br />a point approximately one mile west, and
<br />WHEREAS, the improvements to the aforesaid streets are compatible
<br />with the Urban Area Transportation Study, and
<br />� e
<br />,-� WHEREAS, the costs for these certain improvements are to be
<br />financed from Local Roads and Streets and the
<br />Cumulative Sewer Sinking and Building Fund, and
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority.to make
<br />such improvements as provided by the General Assembly,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Public Works
<br />orders the Department of Public Works to prepare the
<br />plans, specifications, cost estimates, secure the
<br />necessary right-of-way by gift, fee or condemnation,
<br />permits, appropriations, and to seek bids for and to
<br />construct said street improvements on Bendix Drive and
<br />on Cleveland Road.

<br />Mr. Farrand asked the Board for permission to advertise for bids
<br />for the Airport Industrial Park, Phase Four, with sealed bids to
<br />be received on March 1, 1976. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand,
<br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board authorized the
<br />advertising for sealed bids for Airport Industrial Park, Phase Four
<br />on January 30 and February 6, 13 and 20, with bids.to be received
<br />no later than 9:30 a.m, on Monday, March 1, 1976.
<br />STUDENT OBSERVER PRESENT
<br />Barton Tyl, student at Indiana University at South Bend, was present
<br />observing the Board of Public Works meeting. Members of the Board
<br />welcomed Mr. Tyl to the meeting.
