294 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 11, 1983 <br />REQUEST TO HAVE CURB PAINTED BLUE FOR HANDICAPPED PERSON <br />IN LA SALLE HIGH SCHOOL AREA REFERRED2801 ELWOOD <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gish, 2801 Elwood, <br />South Bend, requested that the curb in front of their residence <br />be pained blue designating a handicapped parking area. They <br />indicated that this would assist them in their daily activities. <br />They stated that due to their close proximity to the school, <br />parking is notallowedafter 8:00`a.m. five days a week <br />around their house. They live on a corner lot. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above matter was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CLOSE ALLEY FOR AUCTION (DULY 21, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Mrs. C. Hoffer, 223 South St. Peter Street, presented to the <br />Board on June 27, 1983 and recommends approval. The petitioner <br />is responsible for the closing and opening of the alley and <br />barricades will be delivered by the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting on the morning of July 21, 1983. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above request was approved. <br />'APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following twelve (12) handicapped parking permits <br />were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office <br />for issuance: <br />Corrine Wroblewski, 1952 Inglewood, S.B. <br />Grace E. Miller, 3147 Mountain Maple Ct., S.B. <br />Helen C. Smith, 2801 Beechwood, S.B. <br />Gary L. Briesacker, 10083 Glenwood, S.B. <br />Evelyn H. Swanson, 114 N. Hawthorne, S.B. <br />Loa L. Burns, 3602 S. Ironwood, S.B. <br />Salvatore Grimaldi, 1131 Oak Park, S.B. <br />Clara S. Nering, 1625 N. Riverside, S.B. <br />Gloria E. Nelson, 2314 Clyde, S.B. <br />Genevieve H. Waldron, 21379 Mays, S.B. <br />Eugene C. Pilarski, 1812 S. Michigan, S.B. <br />F.S. Gish, 2801 Elwood, S.B. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS <br />A list containing two hundred eight -two (282) lots ordered cleaned <br />by the Director of the Department of Code Enforcement was submitted. <br />It was noted that the property owners had been advised to clean- <br />up the lot.s and had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the report was filed. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., recommends .the Board approvethe <br />release of,the Contractor's Bond for Eugenia Braboy effective <br />July 11, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Contractor's Bond was released. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., recommends the Board approve the <br />Excavation Bond of John Phillips, d/b/a John Phillips Company <br />effective July 11, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Excavation Bond was <br />approved, <br />1 <br />1 <br />
