APPROVE INTENDED USE HEARING OF REVENUE SHARING FUNDS - EAST SECTOR POLICE SUB -STATION ($15,000.00) City Controller, Joseph E. Kernan, requested Board approval for an intended use hearing on the proposed expenditure of $15,000.00 in revenue sharing funds to be used for the refurbishing of the East Sector Police Sub -station. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the request was approved and a date of July 25, 1983, set for public hearing on the intended use of the revenue sharing funds. REQUEST TO CLOSE SOUTH STREET FOR STUDEBAKER GRAND OPENING REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, City Events Coordin- ator, requested that South Street from Lafayette to Main Streets be closed on Tuesday, July 19, 1983, from 8:00 a.m, to 8:OO p.m. The purpose of this closure is to facilitate the grand opening ceremonies for the Studebaker Museum. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. REQUEST FROM LA SALLE PARK DISTRICT COUNCIL REGARDING PLACEMENT OF SIGNS NEAR LA SALLE PARK REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. Leonard Clay, Chairman, Public Safety Committee of the LaSalle Park District Council, Inc. and Ms. Ethurel Ivory, President of the Council indicated that they would like to bring to the Board's attention a need for several signs to be placed near LaSalle Park. They recommend that Watch for Children and Playground signs should be displayed for motorists to use caution as they are driving thur the park area. They further indicated that signs were placed on West Washington Street but are no longer needed there. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
