292 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 11, 1983 <br />APPROVE SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATIONS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following Sidewalk Sale Permit <br />applications have been received: <br />Robertson's, Inc. <br />211 South Michigan Street <br />By: James K. Kernan, requested Board approval for <br />an intended use hearing on the proposed expenditure of $15,000.00 <br />in revenue sharing funds to be used for the refurbishing of the <br />East Sector Police Sub -station. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the request <br />was approved and a date of July 25, 1983, set for public <br />hearing on the intended use of the revenue sharing funds. <br />REQUEST TO CLOSE SOUTH STREET FOR STUDEBAKER <br />GRAND OPENING REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, City Events Coordin- <br />ator, requested that South Street from Lafayette to Main Streets <br />be closed on Tuesday, July 19, 1983, from 8:00 a.m, to 8:OO p.m. <br />The purpose of this closure is to facilitate the grand opening <br />ceremonies for the Studebaker Museum. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and <br />the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FROM LA SALLE PARK DISTRICT COUNCIL REGARDING <br />PLACEMENT OF SIGNS NEAR LA SALLE PARK REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Leonard Clay, Chairman, Public <br />Safety Committee of the LaSalle Park District Council, Inc. <br />and Ms. Ethurel Ivory, President of the Council indicated that <br />they would like to bring to the Board's attention a need for <br />several signs to be placed near LaSalle Park. They recommend <br />that Watch for Children and Playground signs should be displayed <br />for motorists to use caution as they are driving thur the park <br />area. They further indicated that signs were placed on West <br />Washington Street but are no longer needed there. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />
