REGULAR MEETING MARCH 14, 1983 APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Mr. Leszczynski stated that seven (7) .traffic control devices as recommended by Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, were being presented to the Board for approval. He furtherstated that the traffic control devices all relate to the Olive/ Sample Overpass Construction project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following traffic control devices were approved: INSTALL NO PARKING - (1) Walnut -Sample to Ford (2) Ford St. - Walnut to Dundee (3) Dundee, Camden, Liberty, Bendix, Kaley - from Western to Sample. REMOVE YIELD SIGN - On Olive and Sample. REMOVE YIELD SIGN - On Dunham at Olive. REMOVE STOP SIGN - On Meade at Sample. REMOVE YIELD SIGN - Cut-off Lane, S.E. Quadrant Olive/Sample. REMOVE SNOW ROUTE (TEMPORARY) - Olive Street (Davis to Ford Street) REMOVE SNOW ROUTES (TEMPORARY) - On Sample Street from Grant to Bendix. APPROVE MICHIANA BLOOD DONOR RUN RACE - MAY 8, 1983 Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of the South Bend Medical Foundation, Inc. to conduct the Michiana Blood Donor Run Race to be held on Sunday, May 8, 1983 and recommends approval of this event. The Michiana Blood Donor Run Race Committee requests the site of Pinhook Park as the start and finish point of three (3) separate events, all of which will run simultaneously,. as follows: 1. A 2-mile relay (0.5 mile segments) to be run on a 0.5 mile course completely within the park. 2. A 4-mile course proceding south from Pinhook down Riverside to a turnaround point near the Riverside Apartments. 3. A 10-mile course proceding south along Riverside to the same turnaround as above, back north to Boland, west on Boland to Portage, north on Portage to Cleveland, east on Cleveland to Riverside, south on Riverside to about the same turnaround point as before, and north back to Pinhook. It was noted that approval of the 2-mile relay that is to be run completely within Pinhook Park must be given by the Board of Park Commissioners. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved as recommended, subject to the filing of the appropriate insurance.
