b. As long as a highway remains under the jurisdiction of INDOT, if the <br />control, operation, or maintenance of a traffic signal on a special <br />signal system is not satisfactory to INDOT, said signal will be removed <br />from the special signal system by the CITY and placed on a separate <br />system controlled by INDOT. <br />6. DEFINITIONS <br />a. CITY Holiday: <br />1. the days annually approved by the South Bend Board of public works <br />as holidays for CITY employees. <br />2. shall be defined in Exhibit "F" attached and made a part of this <br />Contract. <br />3. updated annual lists shall be provided without <br />affecting status of this Contract. <br />4. is prescribed as beginning at 6:00 a.m. of the normal work day it <br />replaces and ending at 6:00 a.m. the next day. Holiday rates apply <br />only during this time frame. <br />S. CITY holidays are overtime pay. <br />b. Saw Slot for Roadway Loop and Sealer: Includes, cutting the saw slot, <br />installing loop wire, supplying and installing the cord and sealer, and <br />splices to existing cable. <br />c. Signal Bulb Wattage Table: For traffic signal bulb change -out purposes <br />(routine or non -routine) the table in Exhibit "G" gives the proper <br />lamp/wattage for various types of indications. Light emitting diode <br />(LED) lamps shall replace incandescent bulbs when this is feasible. <br />d. Skilled Labor: Electrician, Foreman, Equipment Operator <br />e. System Retiming: INDOT will perform a coordination timing analysis in <br />conjunction with a 4 year schedule. INDOT will provide the CITY with <br />updated timing sheets showing the implemented changes. <br />f. Traffic Signal Technicians: <br />1. must hold a Level II Traffic Signal Electrician certificate which. <br />has been granted by the International Municipal Signal Association <br />(IMSA). All electrical wiring terminations and splices; controller <br />and cabinet set-up; and testing, review, and turn -on of all <br />operational apparatus at each location shall be done by or in the <br />presence of and under the responsible charge of an employee of the <br />CITY who holds a Level II certificate. Supervision of non- <br />electrical, traffic signal related construction work and traffic <br />control shall be done by a person holding a Level I Work Zone <br />Page 5 of 53 Pages <br />
