will be responding to emergency calls or performing work inside <br />controller cabinets and can perform the requirements of a Traffic <br />Signal Technician as defined by this Contract (see EMERGENCY RESPONSE <br />MAINTENANCE). <br />d. Contact person - This shall be a local person with whom the DTE will <br />discuss and route all work. This person is expected to understand all <br />aspects of traffic signals. <br />e. Phone numbers for the CITY office (business, emergency, and other <br />electronic means of contact), answering service, technicians, and <br />supervisor responsible for the work included in this Contract. <br />f. List of all Subcontractor(s) with names, phone numbers, and job duties <br />of the people that may be performing work on this Contract (Loop <br />cutting, anchor bolt welding, fiber optic work, etc.). <br />3. MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC <br />a. Maintenance of traffic shall be in accordance with Section 801 of the <br />IIVD0T Standard Specifications and INDOT's Work Zone Traffic Control <br />Guidelines: Construction, Traffic, Maintenance and Utility Operations <br />2013. <br />b. If unusual working conditions occur, the CITY shall provide the DTE a <br />proposal for the traffic control measures to be used, subject to <br />approval. If the CITY finds it necessary to temporarily occupy part of <br />a shoulder or the traveled width of pavement and restrict traffic, the <br />CITY shall provide, at its own expense, all cones, barrels, arrow <br />boards, barricades, lights, flaggers, signs, and other traffic control <br />devices as specified, and as deemed necessary by the DTE. <br />c. Construction warning lights shall be in accordance with the applicable <br />requirement of 801.11, except the plastic drums or construction warning <br />signs used only for maintaining traffic during daylight hours will not <br />require a Type A low intensity flashing warning light. <br />d. When aerial work is being performed, traffic shall not be permitted to <br />pass beneath personnel working overhead. When aerial work is being <br />performed which occupies a portion of the traveled way, a minimum of <br />one flagger will be required. All equipment which is used on or near a <br />traveled way shall be equipped with revolving amber warning lights. <br />These warning lights shall be a minimum of 8 inches in diameter. Such <br />lights shall be clearly visible to approaching vehicles through all <br />phases of the equipment operation for a minimum distance of 500 feet. <br />Strobe warning lights may be used provided that they have and output of <br />Page 3 of 53 Pages <br />
