<br />APPROVE SECOND MODIFICATION OF AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
<br />- COLE ASSOCIATES, INC. (ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR SIGNALIZATION
<br />OF INTERSECTIONS)
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that submitted to the Board for approval
<br />is the Second Modification of Agreement for Engineering Services
<br />with Cole Associates, Inc. which includes services in connection
<br />with the preparation of a Section 106 Statement assessing
<br />specific impacts on a Historic District.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski further stated that it has been determined that a
<br />Section 106 Statement assessing specific impacts on a Historic
<br />District is necessary for the Portage Avenue/Lindsey Avenue
<br />signal, which work was not contemplated as part of the original
<br />Agreement.
<br />It was noted that the original Agreement, entered into on April
<br />30, 1984 and modified on June 10, 1985 and on October 6, 1987 is
<br />hereby amended to include said services as indicated above.
<br />It was further noted that the amount of the original Agreement is
<br />hereby increased to thirty-two thousand seventeen dollars
<br />($32,017.00) in view of the additional work required.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Ms.
<br />Humphreys and carried, the Second Modification of Agreement as
<br />submitted was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION - BIDDER CERTIFICATION
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Jimmy L. Scott, EEO Officer for
<br />the City of South Bend, has advised that he has reviewed the
<br />application from Joe Sanders of Sanco, Inc., 919 North Olive
<br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, for certification as a minority
<br />owned business. After complete review, he found that all
<br />requirements of the South Bend Affirmative Action ordinance have
<br />been met and therefore recommended that Sanco, Inc. be certified
<br />as a minority owned business. Upon a motion made by Mrs.
<br />DeClercq, seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the
<br />recommendation was accepted and the application approved.
<br />REQUEST OF SOUTH BEND AREA CRIME STOPPERS, INC. TO CONDUCT 1988
<br />MOONLIGHT WALK AGAINST CRIME - APRIL 30, 1988 - REFERRED
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a letter
<br />from Mr. Tom DeCocker, Walk Director, South Bend Area Crime
<br />Stoppers, Inc., 701 West Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />requesting permission to conduct a 1988 Moonlight Walk Against
<br />Crime on Saturday, April 30, 1988 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
<br />Mr. DeCocker advised that the purpose of the Walk is to raise
<br />funds for the Crime Stoppers Program. The route to be utilized
<br />is as follows:
<br />Begin at Covelelski Stadium, proceed east on South Street,
<br />north on Lafayette, east on Colfax, north on Twyckenham,
<br />north-east on Rockne, south on Ironwood, west on Mishawaka,
<br />west on Beyer, north-west on Lincolnway, west on Monroe,
<br />south on Lafayette and west on South Street returning to
<br />Coveleski Stadium.
