EnIm <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 22, 1988 <br />Mr. DeCocker stated that the route is approximately 12 kilometers <br />and the walkers will utilize the sidewalks and obey all traffic <br />signals. He further stated that registration for the walk will <br />begin at 6:00 p.m. and the anticipated three hundred (300) <br />walkers would begin at 7:00 p.m. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the request referred to above was referred to the <br />necessary City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF COMMITTEE TO MEET PRESIDENT REAGAN TO CONDUCT WALK ON <br />MARCH 9, 1988 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Marece Neagu, 1310 Huey Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, advised that there is going to be a walk <br />from Leeper Park to the ACC on the Notre Dame Campus to protest <br />the visit to the campus by President Reagan. Ms. Neagu stated <br />that approximately five hundred (500) individuals will <br />participate in this walk utilizing the following route: <br />Begin at Leeper Park, proceed north to Angela and east <br />to the Notre Dame Campus to the ACC to disperse. <br />Ms. Neagu further advised that the group is requesting a permit <br />for the walk. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Patricia E. DeClercq, Director, Department of Code <br />Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of <br />approximately fifty-four (54) abandoned vehicles, which are being <br />stored at Steve & Gene's Auto & Truck Salvage and Repair, 3109 <br />South Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that <br />all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mrs. DeClercq, <br />seconded by Ms. Humphreys and carried, the above request was <br />approved and a date of March 7, 1988 was established for the <br />receiving and opening of sealed bids. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY AT 2221 MEADE STREET - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. David Popielski, 1523 West Sample <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised that he would like to <br />purchase the City -owned lot at 2221 Meade Street. Upon a motion <br />made by Mrs. DeClercq, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the above referred to request was referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for a determination of whether or <br />not the City need retain the lot for any reason. <br />FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR BIDDER UALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the following three (3) applications for Bidder <br />Qualification were accepted for filing and referred to the <br />necessary City Departments for review and recommendation: <br />1.
