235 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 7, 1989 APPROVE REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO ERECT A CANOPY AT 1905 MIAMI STREET Mr. Leszczynski advised that the various City departments and bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was submitted to the Board on July 24, 1989, and approval is recommended. Therefore, Ms. DeClercq make a motion that the recommendations be accepted and the request be approved. Ms. Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the recommendation was accepted and the request approved. AWARD OF PROPOSAL - FULL SERVICE CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES FOR THE PERIOD AUGUST 1, 1989 THROUGH JULY 31, 1990 Mr. Leszczynski advised that at the request of the Board the South Bend Police Department contacted three (3) vendors as to their interest in submitting quotations for full-sevice car washes and the following quotations were received: Tom's Car Care 1129 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, Indiana 46614 Advised that they could only provide wet -wash Al's Scottsdale Car Wash 4507 Miami Street South Bend, Indiana 46614 Advised that they could only provide wet -wash Hi -Speed Auto Wash 609 E. LaSalle Street South Bend, Indiana 46617 QUOTATION: Full Service Car Wash 4.50 (0-100 units per month) Full Service Car Wash 4.25 (100 or more per month) Wet Wash - 2.75 (100 or more per month) Jeeps 4.50 Motorcycles 3.50 Chief Marciniak recommended to the Board that the Quotation submitted by Hi -Speed Auto Wash for full service auto washes and full service for jeeps and motorcycles be accepted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried the Quotation as stated above was approved and referred to the Legal Department for preparation of a contract.
