235 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 7, 1989 <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO ERECT A CANOPY AT 1905 MIAMI <br />STREET <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the various City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to request which was <br />submitted to the Board on July 24, 1989, and approval is <br />recommended. Therefore, Ms. DeClercq make a motion that the <br />recommendations be accepted and the request be approved. Ms. <br />Humphreys seconded the motion which carried. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above ref <br />request, which was received by the Board o <br />been reviewed by the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Police Department Traffic Division and is <br />approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. <br />Humphreys, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the <br />recommendation was accepted and the request approved. <br />AWARD OF PROPOSAL - FULL SERVICE CAR WASHES FOR CITY VEHICLES FOR <br />THE PERIOD AUGUST 1, 1989 THROUGH JULY 31, 1990 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that at the request of the Board the <br />South Bend Police Department contacted three (3) vendors as to <br />their interest in submitting quotations for full-sevice car <br />washes and the following quotations were received: <br />Tom's Car Care <br />1129 N. Bendix Dr. <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Advised that they could only provide wet -wash <br />Al's Scottsdale Car Wash <br />4507 Miami Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Advised that they could only provide wet -wash <br />Hi -Speed Auto Wash <br />609 E. LaSalle Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46617 <br />QUOTATION: <br />Full Service Car Wash 4.50 <br />(0-100 units per month) <br />Full Service Car Wash 4.25 <br />(100 or more per month) <br />Wet Wash - 2.75 <br />(100 or more per month) <br />Jeeps 4.50 <br />Motorcycles 3.50 <br />Chief Marciniak recommended to the Board that the Quotation <br />submitted by Hi -Speed Auto Wash for full service auto washes and <br />full service for jeeps and motorcycles be accepted. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried the Quotation as stated above was approved and referred <br />to the Legal Department for preparation of a contract. <br />
