WE <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 7, 1989 <br />REQUEST OF UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVE CENTER TO CLOSE BENDIX AND <br />BOLAND, BOLAND AND KENMORE AND KENMORE AND CLEVELAND ROAD IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH REDEDICATION CEREMONY - SEPTEMBER 10, 1989 - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael A. Ferrill, Major, <br />Infantry, Department of the Army, 3401 Boland Drive, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested permission to close the above mentioned <br />streets on September 10, 1989 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in <br />conjunction with a rededication ceremony. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the <br />request was referred to the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAP PARKING SPACE AT 312 HAMDEN CT - <br />REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mrs. Mary Turner, on behalf of her <br />husband, Timothy Turner, requested that the parking space in <br />front of their residence at 312 Hamden Court be designated as a <br />handicapped parking space as Mr. Turner is medically disabled. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq <br />and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for <br />review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF COMMUNITY RESOURCE <br />BOTH SIDES OF 100 E. WASHINGT <br />RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER LUNC <br />. FOR RESERVED PARKING ON <br />STREET IN CONJUNCT <br />SOUTH BEND MARRIOTT - <br />AUGUST 23, 1989 <br />In a letter to the Board, Terrie Seago, RSVP Coordinator, <br />Community Resource Center Inc., 914 Lincolnway West, South Bend, <br />Indiana requested reserved parking on both sides of 100 E. <br />Washington Street at the South Bend Marriott Hotel on August 23, <br />1989 for its Annual Retired Senior Volunteer Luncheon. Mr. Seago <br />advised that this request is being made due to the number of <br />handicapped senior citizens in the program that will be attending <br />the luncheon. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. DeClercq and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic <br />Division for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST OF WEST WASHINGTON/CHAPIN REVITALI <br />PLACE TWO (2) TRASH RECEPTACLES ALONG THE <br />BLOCK OF SOUTH <br />CHAPIN STREET - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Eugenia Braboy, WWCRP Board Member, 914 <br />Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana requested permission to <br />place two (2) trash receptacles along the 300 block of South <br />Chapin Street, one adjacent to the St. Joe Health Clinic at 305 <br />South Chapin, and the other on the east side of the street near <br />the corner of Napier and Chapin, adjacent to the building at 242 <br />South Chapin. Mrs. Braboy advised that this request is being <br />made as part of the special project of the WWCRP to help maintain <br />the cleanliness of the neighborhood. Mrs. Braboy also request <br />that these receptacles be regularly emptied by the appropriate <br />City department as part of its refuse removal program. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. DeClercq and <br />carried, the request was referred to the appropriate City <br />departments and bureaus for review and recommendation. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - REMOVAL OF <br />ASBESTOS INSULATION AT THE SOUTH BEND WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT <br />Mr. Jack Dillon, Director of Environmental Services, requested <br />that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the removal <br />of Asbestos Insulation at the South Bend Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant. Therefore, Mrs. DeClercq made a motion that the request <br />be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
