<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable
<br />recommendations concerning the above referred to request which was
<br />submitted to the Board on January 31, 1994. Therefore, Mr.
<br />Leszczynski made a motion that this request be approved. Mr.
<br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell
<br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the
<br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and
<br />recommendation:
<br />OF YWCA OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY TO CONDUCT LOTH ANNUAL RUN. JANE
<br />RUN - AUGUST 27, 1994
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Kit Banta, Special Projects
<br />Coordinator, YWCA of St. Joseph County, 802 North Lafayette
<br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the YWCA will
<br />hold its annual Run, Jane, Run, Women In Sports, from August
<br />17, 1994 through August 28, 1994. The run event will be held
<br />on Saturday, August 27, 1994, utilizing the same route as
<br />used last year which is Riverside Drive, from Beale to
<br />Boland.
<br />The events to be held are as follows:
<br />1 Mile Fun run 8:00 a.m.
<br />5K Women's Run 8:30 a.m.
<br />5K Mile Walk 8:30 a.m.
<br />5K inline skating 9:30 a.m.
<br />It is requested that Riverside Drive be closed from 7:15 a.m.
<br />to approximately 11:30 a.m.
<br />OF HOSPICE OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INC. TO CONDUCT 9TH ANNUAL
<br />WALK FOR HOSPICE - OCTOBER 9, 1994
<br />Mr. Mark M. Murray, Associate Director, Hospice of St. Joseph
<br />County, Inc., JMS Building, 108 North Main Street, Suite 111,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct the 9th
<br />Annual Walk for Hospice on Sunday, October 9, 1994. Mr.
<br />Murray noted that this will be a 17K Walk which will begin
<br />and end at Potawatomi Park. The Walk will begin at 1:00 p.m.
<br />and be finished at approximately 5:00 p.m. Mr. Murray
<br />further noted that the route to be used is the same as used
<br />in previous years and it has proven to be very safe.
<br />FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 734 SOUTH 36TH
<br />STREET
<br />Ms. Viola Darr, 734 South 36th Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />requested that the Board designate the parking space in front
<br />of her residence as a handicapped parking space. Ms. Darr
<br />noted that she is handicapped and has a hard time walking a
<br />very long distance.
