<br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 20. 1996
<br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATION FOR GARBAGE AND RUBBISH REMOVAL
<br />SERVICE - ABLE DISPOSAL
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of a favorable recommendation from the
<br />Department of Code Enforcement for a License Application for a Garbage and Rubbish Removal
<br />Service, as submitted by Able Disposal, 809 Wabash Avenue, Chesterton, Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski
<br />stated that the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicles to be used in conjunction with the
<br />service, and has approved them. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski
<br />and carried, the License Application was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 1996 AMERICAN HEART
<br />ASSOCIATION HEARTWALK
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Ms. Joanne Bunnage, Co -chairperson, American Heart Association, 2410
<br />North Grape Road, Mishawaka, Indiana to conduct the above referred to HeartWalk, on Sunday,
<br />October 6, 1996, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Therefore,
<br />upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation
<br />was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS - 1996 ETHNIC FESTIVAL
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Ms. Mikki Dobski, Community Affairs to close specific streets as submitted,
<br />in conjunction with the 1996 Ethnic Festival, on Friday, June 28, 1996, Saturday, June 29, 1996 and
<br />Sunday, June 30, 1996. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs.
<br />Manier and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT ST. JOE COUNTY 4H PARADE
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Mr. Rick Kring, 803 Greenview Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to conduct
<br />the above referred to 4H Parade, on Sunday, July 28, 1996, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., on the
<br />designated route as submitted. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mrs. Manier and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Emee Miller, 344 South Sunnyside, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party, on Saturday, June 1, 1996, from 3:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., on East Wayne North and
<br />East Wayne South to Sunnyside. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Kellyrae Barry, 1076 Woodward Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred
<br />to block party, on Saturday, June 8, 1996, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., on Woodward between
<br />Golden and Vassar. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski
<br />and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT
<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Ken Zmudzinski, Pretreatment Coordinator, Division of
<br />Environmental Services, submitted the following Renewal for a Wastewater Discharge Permit and
<br />recommended approval:
<br />1. Prairie View Recycling & Disposal Facility
