<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said equipment may be transferred or sold at public
<br />auction or private sale, without advertising. However, if the property is deemed worthless, such may
<br />be demolished or junked.

<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS SAMPLE EWING
<br />SITE CLEARANCE - PROJECT NO 97-43
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Division of Engineering, requested permission
<br />to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this
<br />project will abate asbestos containing materials and demolish structures in the Sample Ewing
<br />Redevelopment Area. Funding has been appropriated from the Sample Ewing TIF. Therefore, upon
<br />a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - REQUESTING PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF
<br />WEST MADISON STREET AND NORTH LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Gail Dowty, Temple Beth -El, 305 West Madison Street, South Bend, Indiana to post parking
<br />on both sides of West Madison Street and North Lafayette Boulevard for the Temple Beth -El Holy
<br />Day services, on October 1, 2, 10 and 11, 1997. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by
<br />Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT A WEEK WITHOUT VIOLENCE
<br />MARCH
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Ms. Kit Banta, YWCA, 802 North Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana
<br />to conduct the above referred to march, on Wednesday, October 22, 1997, beginning at 11:00 a.m.,
<br />on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell
<br />and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Alonzo Poindexter, 3917 West Ford, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party, on Friday, September 12, 1997, from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., on Ford from Chicago
<br />to Sheridan. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Kate and Chris Thomas„ 1531 East LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred
<br />to block party, on Sunday, September 14, 1997, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
