380 <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 8. 1997 <br />DENY SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATION <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Board is in receipt of the following Sidewalk Sale Permit application: <br />APPLICANT: Corby's Irish Pub <br />BUSINESS ADDRESS: 1121 East Colfax Avenue <br />DATES OF SALE: September 13-16, 1997 <br />GOODS TO BE SOLD: Food and Drinks <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this application be denied. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as <br />completed by Sally and William Grossnickle, 2503 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to <br />vacate the following alley: <br />The first east -west alley north of Mishawaka Avenue from the east right of way of South 25th <br />Street to the west right of way line of the first north south alley east of 25th Street for a <br />distance of approximately 128 feet and a width of 12 feet. Part located in Berner Grove 1 st <br />Addition, City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, <br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. <br />Caldwell made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE - HOOSIER <br />CAB COMPANY <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Application for a <br />Certificate of Public Convenience, as submitted by Mr. Harvey Lester James, 606 Hendricks Street, <br />Mishawaka, Indiana, was filed. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following traffic <br />control device was approved: <br />Removal - Handicap Sign 11502 N. Brookfield I Signs are not needed <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the following Certificates <br />of Insurance were accepted for filing: <br />HRP Construction Madison Center, Inc. <br />Post Office Box 266 403 East Madison <br />South Bend, Indiana 46624-0266 South Bend, Indiana 46617 <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $709,526.52 dated <br />September 8, 1997, and recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive <br />Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, submitted two (2) lists containing claims in the amount of <br />$52,759.57 and $233,088.03 and recommended approval. Ms. Roemer made a motion that the <br />claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />
