<br />~~~ <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />B&J EXCAVATION COMPANY, INC. <br />1104 West Donald street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46613 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Darnell O'Neal <br />'AUGUST 7, 2006 <br />QUOTATION: $18,499.00 <br />-Upon a motion made ~by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above <br />Quotations were referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. <br />Mr. Rob Nichols, City Engineer, advised the Board that upon review of bids received and <br />opened for the above referred to project, the bid of Jackson Trucking & Excavating, 430 <br />East LaSalle Avenue, South Bend, did not complete the unit prices on the proposal, <br />which included disposal of hazardous material and is therefore non-responsive. After <br />reviewing all bids, Mr. Nichols recommends the Board award the Quotation to the lowest <br />responsive and responsible bidder, Ritschard Bros., Inc., 1204 West Sample Street, South <br />Bend, in the amount of $13,877.00 . <br />Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the quotation of Jackson Trucking & <br />excavating be rejected due to being non-responsive, and award to the next lowest <br />responsive and responsible bidder as outlined above.
