South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting -August 26, 2009 <br />amending the Development Plan for the <br />Airport Economic Development Area and <br />adding one or more parcels to the List of <br />Parcels to be Acquired. <br />Mr. Relos gave the staff report on the project. <br />On July 14, 2009 the Commission approved <br />declaratory Resolution No. 2552 amending <br />the Airport Economic Development Area <br />Development Plan. The Area Plan <br />Commission and South Bend Common <br />Council have approved the changes to the <br />plan. The public hearing today and approval <br />of the Commission's confirming resolution <br />completes the process. Resolution No. 2596 <br />adds thirty-seven properties to the List of <br />Properties to be Acquired. Acquisition will <br />occur only as the properties become <br />available. There is no eminent domain <br />available to the Airport Economic <br />Development Area. <br />Mr. Relos noted that some of the properties <br />are being acquired for the expansion of Ivy <br />Tech. Others are at the edges of Ignition <br />Park and will ensure those areas are cleaned <br />up and ready for development as Ignition <br />Park grows. <br />Mr. Inks noted that the Public Hearing file is <br />complete, containing: (1) A copy of the <br />Notice of Hearing; A copy of Resolution <br />No. 2596; (2) An affidavit from Carol <br />Smith, Advertising Director of the South <br />Bend Tribune, that the Notice of Hearing was <br />published in that newspaper on July 31, <br />2009; (3) An affidavit from Richard <br />Andrysiak, Classified Manager of the Tri- <br />County News, that the Notice of Hearing was <br />published in that newspaper on July 31, <br />2009; (4) A statement from David Relos that <br />on July 31, 2009 affected property owners <br />7 <br />
