Mr. Vitton responded that it
should not have much impact on a home
owner. Most of the guidelines, especially the
ones that would be incorporated into the
code, will be multi-family, commercial and
mixed-use restrictions.
Mr. Gibney noted that in response to some
four-plex units that went up along South
Bend Avenue, that met building code, the
neighborhood decided to raise the standard
with these guidelines and changes to the
building code.
Mr. Varner asked how those four-plexes
would look if they were built under the new
guidelines. What would be different? Mr.
Gibney responded that they would not have
exposed basements. Mr. Vitton responded
that they would be turned on their lots so the
narrow end was toward the street.
Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION N0.2598
Mr. Varner and unanimously Carried, the AMENDING TI1E NORTHEAS'I~ NEIGHQORHOOD
Commission approved Resolution No. 2598 DEVELOPMENT AREA DEVELOPMENT PLAN
amending the Northeast Neighborhood
Development Area Development Plan.
(2) Sub-Grant Agreement by and between the
City of South Bend Department of
Redevelopment and the University of
Notre Dame Du Lac and on behalf of
Innovation Park at Notre Dame.
17
