South Bend Redevelopment Commission Rescheduled Regular Meeting -August 26, 2009 Mr. Inks noted that this item is related to a $750,000 equipment grant the city received from the Department of Energy for high tech equipment to outfit the wet lab space at Innovation Park. The funds will come to South Bend. This agreement passes on all the original terms and conditions to the University so that they are required to comply. Staff recommends approval. Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by Mr. Varner and unanimously carried, the Commission approved Sub-Grant Agreement by and between the City of South Bend Department of Redevelopment and the University of Notre Dame Du Lac and on behalf of Innovation Park at Notre Dame. (3) Sub-Grant Agreement by and between the City of South Bend Department of Redevelopment and the University of Notre Dame Du Lac (Certified Technology Park Project) Mr. Inks noted that at the time the city submitted the application to be a Certified Technology Park, it submitted a grant request for $2,000,000 for construction of the first building at Innovation Park. Again, the city will receive the funds. The subgrant agreement allows the city to pass the funds on to the University of Notre Dame with the original terms and conditions to which they are required to comply.
