South Bend Redevelopment Commission Rescheduled Regular Meeting –July 14, 2009 6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) A. Public Hearing (1) continued… There was no one else who wished to speak regarding Resolution No. 2587. Ms. Jones closed the public hearing for whatever action the Commission wished to take. (2) Approve Resolution No. 2587. Ms. Jones said she thinks it is always important to take an empty building and find a good adaptive reuse for it. She agreed with Ms. Andrews when she said it increases the traffic to the neighborhood, the stability to the neighborhood, adds a presence; it’s not a temptation to someone to someone to either destroy or vandalize the building. It’s always nice to have someone in the building. That’s Ms. Jones’ primary support for it. This is a wonderful reuse of the building, and encourages and enhances the traffic pattern through all of the museum campuses.
