Section 16. Parking, or Driving, Vehicles on Sidewalk or <br /> within Curb Line. -- It shall be unlawful to park, or drive, any <br /> vehicle upon any portion of any sidewalk, or pathway used by pedestrians, <br /> of any street or court, except in the necessary act of crossing at alleys, <br /> courts or driveways; and if a curb line is established, and a curb con- <br /> structed, no vehicle shall be parked or driven on any portion of the <br /> street lying between such curb and the property line; provided, however, <br /> that the provisions of this section as to parking shall not apply to <br /> bicycles, and shall not apply to the riding of bicycles on the sidewalks <br /> along unpaved streets when the surface of the street is muddy or sandy, <br /> but in no such case shall they be propelled without due care for the <br /> safety of pedestrians, and at a rate of speed reasonable under all <br /> circumstances. <br /> Section 17. Hour Parking on Certain Streets. -- Vehicles <br /> shall not be parked for a longer continuous period than sixty_minutes, <br /> between the hours of 8:00 A. M. and 6:30 P. M. from Monday to Friday <br /> inclusive, and between the hours of 8:00 A. M. and 9 :00 P. M. on <br /> Saturday of each week, (subject to the provisions of the next following <br /> y (subject g <br /> section regarding Waiting Zones) on any of the following streets: <br /> Michigan Street, from LaSalle Avenue to Division Street. <br /> St. Joseph Street, from Lincoln Way East to Wayne Street. <br /> Colfax Avenue, from Michigan Street to Lafayette Boulevard. <br /> Washington Avenue, from Michigan Street to Lafayette Boulevard. <br /> Jefferson Boulevard, from St. Joseph Street to Lafayette Blvd. <br /> Wayne Street, from St. Joseph Street to Main Street. <br /> Main Street, from LaSalle Avenue to Wayne Street. <br /> South Street, from Lafayette Boulevard to William Street. <br /> Section 18. Fifteen Minute Waiting Zones. -- To afford short <br /> time parking, fifteen minute waiting zones are hereby established, <br /> which the Board of Public Safety shall cause to be appropriately marked <br /> and designated by signs upon the curb or otherwise, along each portion <br /> of the stteets as described in the prededing section, approximately one- <br /> , fourth to one-third of the available parking space to be devoted to such <br /> I I <br /> purposes as the necessities demand, and no vehicles shall park in such <br /> -7- <br /> � - J <br />
