Master shall be entitled to have said dog redeemed upon paying to <br />the Pound Master a fee of One Dollar ($1000), with an additional <br />charge of twenty -five cents (250) per day for each day or part th <br />of that said dog has been in said pound. <br />Section 9. Upon failure of the owner of any impounded dog <br />within said period of three days to redeem said dog from the pound; <br />as provided aforesaid,such dog shall at the end of said period of <br />three days be humanely destroyed by said Pound Master;protided, <br />however,that in place of destroying said dog the same may be re- <br />leased by the Pound Master to any person desiring to procure the <br />same who shall Jiay the impounding fees aforesaid and who shall <br />immunize and register said dog as aforesaid;provided,further,that <br />in ease any dog shall be impounded which in the judgment of the <br />Pound Master is a valuable dog, of the value of Twenty -five Dol- <br />lars ($25) or more, the Pound Master may continue to keep said dog <br />for an additional period of one (1) week,and shall advertise the <br />sale of said animal by one newspaper notice in a newspaper publisho <br />in the City of South Bend,Indiana,describing said dog and designat- <br />ing the time of sale,at which time said Pound Master may proceed toI <br />sell said dog at public outcry for the higest and best bid in east <br />for said animal and upon the bidder paging the bid price and the <br />impounding fees aforesaid and causing said animal to be immunized, <br />and registered, as aforesaid,in case of the sale of valuable dogs, <br />the Pound Master shall be entitled to retain over and above the <br />amount otherwise paid hi 'fifty per eent.(50 %) of the sale price <br />of said dog as his Poe. <br />Section.10. The Pound Master shall keep a faithful record <br />of his receipts and disbursement and a record of the cost of main - <br />taining said pound and providing food and drink for impounded ani- <br />male, and shall account monthly to the Board of Public Safety for <br />any/surplus in his hande;provided,however,that said Pound Master <br />may have in his possession as petty cash the sum of One Hundred <br />Dollars ($100) for the purpose of buying food and drink for impoux <br />ed animals. At least annually the Pound Master shall make a writ- <br />ten report of his doings to said Board of Safety. <br />5 <br />
