Provided that the said Board shall charge in addition to the above <br />sum the sum of twenty -five cents (851() for eadh duplicate metal t <br />issued as hereinbefore provided. <br />Said metal tag shall have stamped thereon a number corres- <br />ponding to the registration number of the dog so lioensed,as <br />shown on said record book. For each registration year the tag sh a <br />be of a different shape. Said license and tag shall not be trans- <br />ferable to any other animal than the one registered. <br />Dogs shall be licensed before the fifteenth day of Tuly of <br />each year, and said license shall be valid for the twelve months <br />following such date,which is defined as the registration year; <br />provided that dogs becoming of the age of three meths after <br />Tuly 1st of each year,or which shall be brought into the city by <br />their owner after said date,shall be licensed within thirty (30) <br />days after becoming three months old, or after being brought into <br />the city,whioh license shall be valid until the fifteent� day ct <br />Tuly next succeeding. <br />Section 8. No dog shall be allowed to run at large within t <br />city limits of the City of South Bend,Indiana,or be away from the <br />premises of the owner of such dog unless such dog shall be kept at <br />so <br />all times on leash or„ muzzled that it is impossible for such dog <br />to bite a human being ;provided,however,that It shall be lawful for <br />any dog to run at large or be away from the premises of the owner <br />without being on leash or muzzled, as aforesaid, if such dog has <br />II registered and inoculated or immunized against rabies in the man- <br />ner hereinafter provided and is not manifestly vicious or diseas <br />provided,further,however, that female dogs shall not be permitted <br />to run at large while in heat; <br />Section 3. There shall be a public pound in or near the Cit <br />of South Bend to be located from time to time in suohplace or <br />places as may be designated by the Board of Public Safety of this <br />city. Said public pound shall be km wn as a Dog Pound and shall b <br />under the supervision of said Board of Public Safety. Said Board <br />of Public Safety is hereby authorized to appoint a Pound Master <br />who may be a veterinarian in private praotiee,and to fix his <br />8 <br />
