-5- <br />contractor or any of his agents, to any property which the city <br />may own or for which it may be responsible, and to hold said <br />City of South Bend free apdharmless from all claims, for <br />damages on account of the negligence or misfeasance of the <br />plumber and from all cost and expense growing out of the <br />defense of such claims. Said bond is to be in force from <br />the date of its acceptance and the issuance of license by <br />said Comptroller for a term of one (1) year, and both license <br />and bond must be renewed annually, and no other bond shall <br />be required of such plumber by any other department of the <br />City except for making excavation inthe street. <br />Section XIII. Exemption of existing plumbers; The <br />provisions of this Ordinance that refer to examination do <br />not apply to any plumbing contractors, commonly known as <br />master plumbers or journeyman now duly registered and <br />qualified under the provisions of any ordinance or plumbing <br />code heretofore in effect. <br />Section XIV. Appointment of a board. The Board of <br />Health of said City of South Bend is hereby authorized and <br />empowered to appoint an examining board consisting of one <br />duly licensed plumbing contractor, one qualified and Com- <br />petent licensed journeyman plumber and the plumbing in- <br />spector of said city. Said Board shallmeet at least once <br />each thirty days or oftener if in the judgment of the <br />Secretary of the Board of Health it is deemed advisable. <br />Said Examining Board shall hold office during the pleasure <br />of the Board of Health and until its successor is appointed <br />and qualified. <br />Section XV. Master Plumber defined is; A Master Plumber <br />as used in the Ordinance is any person who is engaged in the <br />plumbing business as a contractor doing a general plumbing <br />or drainage business for the general public and who maintains <br />a plumbing shop or store and who may employ journeyman plumbers. <br />
