-43- <br />on the sewer side of any trap. All other joints shall be <br />caulked, screwed, or wiped. Soldering nipples, brass <br />unions, galvanized box unions with sheet lead gaskets, made <br />without other gaskets or packing, or with long threaded <br />unions are permitted. No union shall be used under floors <br />on waste or vent pipes. <br />Section CLXIV. Slip joints shall not be permitted <br />within any part of the water supply system. <br />Section CLXV. That all persons doing any work within <br />the terms of this ordinance shall also abide by any rules <br />established by the Board of Public works regulating the <br />Water Department, which are not in conflict with this <br />ordinance. <br />Section CLXVI. All plumbing and house drainage shall <br />be inspected by said Inspector as follows: <br />When the soil waste pipe or vent stack are completed <br />throughout the building, and before any joint in such soil <br />waste pipe or vent stack or fittings are covered, and whin <br />all openings are made for the proper connection of all <br />fixtures all soil waste pipes or vent stacks shall be filled <br />with water to the highest .point or to the highest point <br />above the vents. This shall be the first test made by the <br />Plumbing Inspector and he shall be notified that the work <br />is ready for inspection by written notice filed with him <br />by the employing plumber. <br />Final inspecton shall be made when all fixtures are <br />attached and the work is completed and the water turned on <br />and all traps filled. If this last mentioned test meets <br />with the approval of the Plumbing Inspector and with the <br />various sections of this Ordinance,, then the Inspector <br />shall issue his certificate of approval to the proper per- <br />sons, which said certificate shall properly identify the <br />work and shall be issued before the water meter is set. <br />
