-40- <br />may be situated. <br />Section CLV. When the public sewer is not accessible as <br />herein provided the said building or buildings may be connected <br />with a cesspool located not less than twenty -five (25) feet <br />away from any building used for human habitation, or within <br />50 feet of any watertight cistern or within 100 feet of any <br />source of any water supply, and same must be built under <br />permit from the Plumbing Inspector. <br />The cesspool shall be built to receive a cast iron or <br />steel cover of not less than fifteen (15) inches in <br />diameter. No cesspool or privy vault or similar means of <br />sewerage disposal shall be used in connection with any <br />apartment house or tenement, but every such house shall have <br />its plumbing system directly connected with the public sewer. <br />When cesspools are built they shall be constructed or <br />erected under a permit granted by the Plumbing Inspector, in <br />accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, and with <br />reference to permits issued for plumbing or house drainage <br />work, so far as same may be applicable. <br />Brick or other material equally as good, shall be used <br />in the construction of all cesspools; provided, such other <br />material shall not be used unless specially authorized by <br />the Inspector in a special permit therefor, issued in the <br />same manner as herein provided for the regular permit for <br />cesspools. Provided, that the person signing and filing <br />said statement shall deposit the sum of One ($150) Dollar <br />and fifty cents for each cesspool described in said statement. <br />Section CLVI. In any case any cesspool is allowed, <br />because of inability to connect with a public sewer, then, <br />or as soon thereafter as it becomes possible to make such <br />sewer connections, such cesspool shall be cleaned out, and <br />filled with fresh earth and the sewer connection made.
