0 <br />-31- <br />than six (6) times per hour, or may be placed in a compartment <br />without windows in the external wall of the building, providing <br />a mechanical system of ventilation is installed which will <br />change the air at normal temperature not less than six (6) <br />times per hour. <br />Section CXIV. All rooms containing a public lavatory <br />shall have ventilation to the outer air by an air shaft or <br />duct sufficient to provide the necessary ventilation of the <br />room. <br />Ventilation from toilet rooms shall be separate and <br />distinct and have no connection whatever with the other <br />ventilating ducts in the building. <br />When water closets or urinals are not placed in a <br />separate and properly ventilated room the partitions around <br />the same shall be extended to the ceiling or shall be ceiled <br />over not less than seven (7) feet above the floor, and the <br />space so enclosed shall be ventilated in an approved manner. <br />Section CXV. In all buildings the outside partitions <br />of any water closet or urinal apartment shall be solid and <br />extend to the ceiling or be independently ceiled over not less <br />than 7 feet above the floor. When necessary to light such <br />apartments the upper part of the partitions may be provided <br />with translucent, not clear glass. The interior partitions <br />of such apartments shall be dwarf partitions of not less <br />than 61 0" high. <br />Section CXVI. Where water closets or other plumbing <br />fixtures are placed under a sidewalk, street, alley or other <br />like place, adjoining and opening into the basement of any <br />building, each and every fixture 'so placed shall be ventilated <br />in the same manner as is provided for other plumbing fixtures <br />in this ordinance, and the water closet compartments shall be <br />adequately lighted and ventilated, and the bowls of such <br />
