-21- <br />the stack terminating with open end for ventilation, and at <br />least five feet when such roof is used for other purposes <br />than weather covering the building.. <br />All such pipes shall be increased at least one inch <br />in size before passing through roof. <br />In no case shall a vent pipe passing through the roof <br />be less than two inches in diameter, except that.all 1 -4 <br />and 1 -2 inch pipe shall be increased to two inches. <br />Change in diameter shall be made by long increaser, <br />at least six inches below roof. When roughing is done, the <br />vent pipe necessary for the fixture intended to be used must <br />be installed. <br />Section LXIX. Measurements of all sewer taps from the <br />main must be made and reported to the Engineer's Office by <br />all Master Plumberswhen connection thereto is made by them. <br />All sewer connections from the curb or main must not be <br />less than 5 inch extra heavy cast iron soil pipe, which said <br />connection diall run from the curb or main to the house drain <br />as herein defined. All cast iron sewers must be caulked <br />with lead. <br />Section LXX. The roof terminals of all vent pipes shall <br />be at least three feet above any door, window, scuttle or air <br />shaft when located at distances less than twelve feet from <br />such terminal. <br />Section LXXI. Where a single basement or first floor <br />closet is placed more than five feet from the point of <br />connection to the inside house drain or soil stack, in <br />addition to the 4 inch main soil stack, a vent stack not <br />less than 2 inches in diameter must be provided and extended <br />through the roof, provided, however, that not more than one <br />such fixture shall be so connected. <br />Section LXXII. Where there are a series of closets <br />one above the other the lower closets must be protected by <br />
